Student Minister Application

for the ‘25-’26 Academic Year

Applications to be a Student Minister open on March 1, 2025 and are due by March 20, 2025. There is a maximum of 10 positions available, four (4) of which will be officers of The Table UGA student organization. This means that StuMin positions in 25-26 will not be shared by more than one student.

    1. Plan and run Community Nights at The Table on Sunday evenings, including Community Night Kickoff during Welcome Week

    2. Help plan additional community events during the year

    3. Assists the Campus Ministers in planning the Fall Retreat

    4. Controls the birthday calendar & posts for members’ birthdays

    1. Takes on the responsibility of outreach

      1. Coordinates tabling for Organization Fairs through UGA

      2. Coordinates student outreach to new and returning students

    2. Distributes outreach materials (flyers, etc) throughout campus

    3. Regularly consult w/ campus ministers on the effectiveness of the Outreach Plan.

    1. Coordinates monthly meal preparation and service with notChurch

      1. 2nd Sundays of the month

    2. Coordinates service projects for the Table

      1. Coordinates Dawg Days of Service and MLK Day of Service

      2. Leads projects & events at Students’ discretion: book clubs, court watching, other projects

    3. Assists with the Food Pantry

      1. Expected to shop at the Food Bank to keep the food pantry stocked

      2. Check the fridge temperatures multiple times a week

    4. Serve as a PSC liaison to interfaith events (i.e. Interfaith Shabbat @ Hillel)

    1. Must be a grad student

    2. Coordinates any regular GradMin gatherings

    3. Responsible for outreach plan to grad students

      1. E.g. tabling graduate student opportunities fairs

    1. Creates flyers/graphics for Table events

    2. Manages Instagram account

      1. Posts about upcoming events

      2. Posts sermon series and menu on Tuesday evening

    1. Maintain Table Community Garden

      1. Purchase seeds and supplies needed to maintain the garden

      2. Recruit volunteers to help plant, harvest, maintain and open/close the garden for the season

    2. Facilitate making the Table a sustainable ministry

      1. Drop off hard-to-recycle materials to CHaRM once a month

      2. Maintain compost system at the Table

    3. Plan an outdoor activity

      1. Once a semester, organize a group activity outside- i.e. hiking, kayaking, etc.

    1. Engages campus with the lens of LGBTQ inclusion

    2. Oversees new iteration of Coffee & Queeries with help of campus ministers

    3. Table at Pride events on campus and around Athens (i.e. Athens Pride) for CQ/Table

    1. Build Pro-Presenter for WORD+TABLE

    2. Run Livestream & oversee slides volunteer

    3. Assist in running Pre-Worship meeting

    1. Recruit worship volunteers (non-musical)

    2. Prepare sacraments (communion and baptismal font)

    3. assist in leading pre-worship meeting

    4. optional: welcome participants to worship at the beginning of each service
